My Work

University for the Creative Arts

Here is a preview of my recent university project, the brief set was to create a niche market magazine. I chose my focus to be on street style, in different areas of London the first being Kings Road, Chelsea Here is a snippet of the cover and images I sourced.

At university the first individual project set was the Fashion Vocabulary unit. For this I completed a marketing report on the high street retailer H&M and a Marketing Proposal for future development online using social media.

I also Analysed S/S12 forecasted trends, creating moodboards with photoshop reflecting the trends.

Lastly I styled and photographed a photoshoot in the Style of the legendary photographer Richard Avedon focusing on his American West theme. Using the Modern Woman as my inspiration.

The Fashion Retail Academy

I hear blogging is good for keeping an online portfolio and CV. So I decided it would be a good idea to show case my Fashion Retail Academy work. This project shows where the tittle City Doll originates  from along with my inspiration. This project was the most enjoyable thing I have ever completed to date. I enjoyed every single stressful moment of it. I was doing something I loved, using my own initiative.

The Concept:
To create a launch pack for a high street retailer showing my skills and professionalism. The clothing and accessory range I have created is aimed at 18-24 year olds, who are students in cities. The range is designed to be new and chic. Wearable for day time, interviews and evening wear preferably aimed at students like myself. I found that creating a range that I would like to wear allowed me to show off my passion for fashion even more and to express myself. Throughout my project I have included Buying, Retail Operations, Merchandising, Digital Presentations, Public Relations & Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Styling. I have used Photoshop for the layout and work included through out this project.
One of the main inspirations of my project was the TV drama Gossip Girl, I love the high end couture fashion and styling of their outfits especially Blair Waldorf - (Leighton Meester) I used her as the face of my brand which I created the whole concept around. I have launched a autumn winter range for French Connection with Leighton Meester’s character Blair Waldorf as the face of it, planning the launch event, press day, floor plan for store, budgets of events, magazine coverage, cost of creating the range, fabrics, and potential profits. I incorporated all my knowledge from my retail course in the project. - Awarded a Distinction.
